Art Explorers, Inc. is a non-profit, creative arts program that serves adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and artistically stimulating environment where artists with disabilities will find the freedom of personal expression and individual growth through the visual arts, gain new skills and vocational opportunities, and enjoy social interactions with other artists and the wider art community.
We believe that art has the power to transform lives, and opens a window to the deepest expressions and yearnings of the human spirit.
Art Explorers is located in Fort Bragg, CA
“Mendocino Coast Films made a wonderful short film about Art Explorers — our nonprofit art program for artists with disabilities. The film was shown to great acclaim at the first Mendocino Film Festival. It was viewed on our local Channel 3 TV and shown many times at our big November art show in Mendocino. People have come into our studio/ gallery after having seen the film and many have purchased a copy of the film on DVD. The film has definitely increased our exposure, brought us new sales, and most importantly, made people aware of the amazing creativity of our disabled artists.”
